Revisiting my hometown Surigao del Sur was a great experience of mine and my family. Surigao del Sur a province Mindanao is a sleeping giant for potential tourism in the Philippines. Some of its top tourist spot is featured in some of the travel magazine and even television, but only few tourist manages to come and visit most of then have a family relative in Surigao del Sur maybe because they thought that it is a dangerous province because it belong to Mindanao. I was born in this province and even visited most of the tourist spot located in our province but nothing happen. In this blog I will present to you some tourist spot I visited while I was revisiting Surigao del Sur in a 3 day travel.

In my 1st day, our 1st destination is the Hinatuan Enchanted River(Hinatuan Scared River) it is a deep spring river near the pacific sea. Enchanted river is a magically clear blue river that seems to spring from nowhere. It is a very dip water and no one knows how dip it was. At 12 noon is the schedule of fish feeding with a couple hit of bells the fish will start to came up. This is done by playing Hymn of Hinatuan.

In my 2nd day, our 2nd destination is the San Agustin Britannia Island where the pure white sands and sparkling waters of the island will give you a pleasant and memorable experience. Britannia is a island hoping destination where you can eat your own bring food in your rented boat while hopping to those islets.

And for my last day, at morning we visited the Marihatag Tree Park and Resort to see an ostrich. Marihatag is not that popular to Enchanted River or Britannia, but many people foresee that in the future it will be one of the favorite spot for travelers. In staying at Marihatag you can do some activities like swimming and beach bumming, stargazing and sun/moonrise watching, surfing, snorkeling Hammrock swinging and visiting to Omangon Island a nearby Island in front of the beach.

At the afternoon we change our destination and go to the Cagwait beach(Philippines Waikiki Beach/Boracay of Caraga) the beach is surrounded with a rainforest that you can take a shade. You will also enjoy swimming because the water in the sea is cold plus the breeze is so fresh and you can just spend your time walking along the fine sand of the shore.

And at night our last destination was the Tandag City boulevard and park. Boulevard of Tandag is foresee by the Tandaganons as their land mark. It is beat at night because of the windy sea air, colorful lamp post, the movies that being played is a big screen, different street foods and the smell of a barbeque in the barbeque houses that is open only at night. Then after at the boulevard we go to the City’s new renovated park in front of the San Nicolas de Tolentino Cathedral. You will be amazed by the different colors that is accompanied by the dancing of water together with the music in beat.
